Life after death (Part1)
Is there life after death? Is it important to know about it? Every time we visit a cemetery on the grave stone of a person we may found some information concerning the person and his life but there is something that it’s always in grave on the stone the date of his birth and his death so as we are sure that one day everyone will pass away it’s safe to study about it
First we need to understand that we are made Three part : body, spirit & soul. When somebody die the part call body is put on the grave but the spirit and the soul are eternal so they will never cease to live.
· Body
The body was form from the dust of the earth Gen 2:7 “And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground “ after the sin of adam God says in Gen 3:19 “for out of it you were taken. For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.”
God was talking to the body because is the body that came from the dust.
· Spirit
Our spirit is the part of Us that has been made at the image of God Gen 1:26 “And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness”. The spirit is inside the body and the body cover the spirit like a glove cover the hand in fact the bible says in Gen 2:7 “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life”. After the sin of Adam we became spiritually death and God says in Gen 6:3 “And Jehovah said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, in his erring; he is flesh.”
This is the part that Jesus came to restore Joh 3:3-6
“Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?
Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
· Soul
The soul is the part that relate the body with the spirit it s the consequence of putting the body and the spirit together Gen 2:7 “And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Here clearly we see that joining together the spirit and the body produce a living soul.

about the rest that peoples experience like Samuel
(1 Samuel 28:11-19) or some experience great tor
ment as in the case of the rich man in the parable of Luc (Luc 16:19-31).
Look what Jacob said when he believed that joseph was death Gen 37:35 “And all his sons, and all his daughters, rose up to comfort him. But he refused to be comforted. And he said, For I will go down into the grave to my son mourning. And his father wept for him.”
He knew that he son was death but still he said about meet him again, How can two persons meet if they are both death?
Let see this second proof of in the New testament Mat 17:1-4 “ And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain apart. And He was transfigured before them. And His face shone as the sun, and His clothing was white as the light. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with Him. And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You will, let us make here three tabernacles; one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
Now here somebody woul make the case that Elijah never past away and that he was taken in heaven by a chariot but what about Moses? The bible speaks clearly of his death in Deut 34:5-7 ( “And Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the Word of Jehovah. And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor. But no man knows of his grave to this day. And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dim, nor had he lost any of his natural strength.”) and Yet we see this man declared death 2500 years earlier the time of Mat 17 appearing and speaking with Jesus, that’s mean somewhere Moses spent a greater part of his life (because he lived for 120 years and he appears after 2500 years) than the one he spent on this earth.
Let’s see the way Jesus speaks of Abraham in Joh 8:56 “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and He saw and was glad.” Jesus speaking about his coming on the earth said that Abraham rejoiced in seeing it, let acknowledge the fact that Abraham lived nearly 3000 years before Christ but still Jesus speaks about Abraham seeing his birth.
As we saw There is life after death Jesus himself says in Luc 20:37-38 “But that the dead are raised, even Moses pointed out at the Bush, when he called the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For He is not God of the dead, but of the living. For all live to Him.”
There is no doubt that life continue after death some may ask why we can’t see the after life with our eyes? We need to remember that we are three part and the spirit is in the body, God has created a physical world and the only way for us to live in it is by having a physical body that’s why he cover our spirit with flesh, while the body can be damaged Our spirit it’s renewed as 2Co 4:16 says “For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day.” In our physical body we cannot see in the spiritual for this reason we use faith to believe in God who is Spirit. Paul describe the spirituals things as invisible and says that the visible last only for a moment but the invisible are forever 2Co 4:18 “ For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.” The spirit is the part of us that is invisible and it will last forever because anything of God is eternal.
Now that we are convinced that there is life after death the question is what kind of lifes we have after death? As I told you before the bible speaks about two kind of situation after death Rest & torment Jesus has something to do with it but this will be the focus of part two of our study 1 week from now tune in to read part 2.
